As a professional Bridal Makeup Artist and Wedding Hairstylist on Long Island, working weddings for over 20 years, I have seen the beauty industry evolve and develop in so many different ways. Cosmetics are now formulated to look amazing when photographed or recorded in High Definition Resolution, as well as provide a long wearing finish lasts over 16+ hours. (many overnight) Hair style techniques, tools and products have also been developed to keep up with today’s styling demands of brides for a long lasting look, that could also be changed throughout the night. Over the years, I have honed my skills and experimented with a variety of products to come up with a formula to create not only a flawless finish with makeup, but one that will endure all the factors you face on a long wedding day such as tears, perspiring, eating, drinking, hugging and of course, kissing. 😉
My long lasting makeup formula
Prior to the makeup application, each client that sits in my chair will receive a luxurious, pampering wedding day mini-facial. Starting off with a proper customized skin prep, will create a fresh canvas to prime the face for HD Airbrush Makeup. Many of the cosmetic products I have tested and selected are waterproof and smudge-proof,. After setting your makeup with specifically formulated powders and sprays, these thin, carefully balanced layers of products, tailored to your specific skin needs, will ensure a flawless, long lasting finish for 20+ hours. You will NOT want to take it off.
.Each client’s skin and beauty needs are different, and I will advise you on how to maintain your look easily and quickly throughout your wedding day. I can even show you a simple way to change your look up for later in the evening.
Many of the compliments I receive are how my client did not want to take her beautiful makeup off at the end of the night. And frequently I receive text messages from brides and their bridal parties the net day, saying they are still wearing their makeup to brunch! OOHH HAHA! I don’t recommend this, but it goes to prove the longevity of this makeup application.
In fact, you will need makeup remover or micellar water to take it off. The old soap and water trick will not work.

On your wedding day, you want to look and feel fresh, beautiful, elegant and perhaps even glamorous. In order to maintain your look, whether retro and vintage or modern and chic, I will create a look that not only suits your personality, sense of style and your gown(s), but also will last with you throughout the day and night.
Having over 20 years of hairstyling experience, I have mastered the art of updos, half-updos, side-swept styles, and braids. When meeting with my brides, we look over various styling options, and come up with one or two looks that are perfect for your special day. Using a combination of modern styling techniques, and products, it is important to create a style that suits you, as well as lasts well past cutting your wedding cake.
Many weddings here on Long Island are outside, sometimes in somewhat unfriendly conditions for a “good hair day”. I will help you choose a style that will not only make you feel completely special and beautiful, and coordinate with your gown(s) but also something that is comfortable and most importantly will hold up throughout the night, despite weather conditions or the location of your venue. Taking into account the weather, the season, your own hair and your expectations of your dream look, we will come up with the perfect look, together.
From powders and sprays, and pomades and serums, I use a specific combination of professional products to help hold and set your wedding hair. Depending on the style that you choose, I may “clip set“ your hair, to lock in your waves or curls and allow them to cool, as a first step on the wedding day.
Incorporating human hair extensions into down or semi-down hairstyles can even help your curls or waves hold longer! Adding clip-in extensions or installing Keratin Fusion Extension in advance of the wedding, will help give your hair the drama and volume you want, or just that little bit of extra length and fullness many brides desire for their wedding hairstyle.
I will work with you to determine whether you need hair extensions, and additional padding or inserts to truly create the look you have always dreamed of that will last your entire wedding day.
Some brides like the added reassurance of having a professional artist on-site to touch up and assist them with maintaining or even changing their look throughout the night. I offer a concierge service called “Ali By My Side” for brides who would like me to continue on with my services and assistance for someone or throughout the rest of the day.
